In Tip
62 we discussed
Scalloped Braces inside the guitar. This tip is about
Scalloped
Nuts & Saddles. It seems people are always trying to
figure
out how to get an acoustic guitar to sound better. Sometimes
it
is a very slight improvement. Using scalloped nuts and
saddles I
believe is in this category. There is some debate as to
wether
the human ear can tell the difference sometimes. It is cool
that
luthiers and techs keep trying. Using scallpoing inbetween
the
strings instead of it being flat, is an attempt in controlling
the
string vibrations straight down to the neck and bridge instead of off
to
the sides thus improving the sound of the guitar.
