Bone Saddles

Your local luthier can put a bone saddle on your guitar for about $25 to $30 (at least a guy I went to in Salt Lake did--and a great job at that!).
Even if you have a really crappy $100 beater, this is a minor investment that makes a very recognizable difference--louder, better sustain, and better tone.
